Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) verification (ISO 26000)

Description

ISO 26000 defines social responsibility as “responsibility of an organisation for the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment, through transparent and ethical behaviour that contributes to sustainable development, including health and the welfare of society” and lists the core subjects and principles of a socially responsible organisation, which include:

  • Accountability on the impacts of its activities and decisions on society and the environment
  • The adoption of transparent and ethical behaviour, which is in compliance with applicable law and consistent with international norms of behaviour
  • Taking into account the expectations of stakeholders Respect for human rights.

Integration of social responsibility in an organisation’s structure brings benefits in terms of:
