UNI EN ISO 3834 – Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials establishes the correct method for managing the manufacturing process by welding. It assures process control and the observance of product quality requirements, both in the workshop and on the work-site, of any type of welded construction.
Technical Focus
ISO 3834 is useful in specific contractual situations, such as the integration of UNI EN ISO 9001 in the specialist area of the management of “special welding process”, and also constitutes “presumption of conformity” in the sphere of the European PED’s (Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC), CPD (Construction Products Directive 89/106/EC), Simple Pressure Vessels (Directive 2009/105/EC).
ISO 3834 is also mandatory for civil engineering works, as established in Ministerial Decree of 14/01/2008, for the purpose of obtaining certification from the Central Technical Service of the Upper Council for Public Works (STC).
